Broker's Comments

Built in two distinct versions between 1980 and 1984, with different deck mouldings, the Westerly Discus is a solid and very seaworthy cruiser. The hull continues the style of earlier Laurent Giles Westerlys, with the same distinctive bow knuckle seen on Centaurs and other smaller designs.
Westerly made 300 of the Discus (more than the Westerly 33 ketch that it superseded) and many of these boats can be found in the Med or cruising further afield. The Discus holds the record for the fibreglass yacht sailed furthest above the Arctic Circle (Bob Shepton on Dodo's Delight), another testament to the strength of the hull and its sea-keeping qualities.
This example is in good condition and has clearly been looked after by the current owners
