Broker's Comments
Here we have a 1/4 share for sale on this boat, each quarter share is £16,000.00.
A modern family yacht this ever popular Bavaria 38 appears to be in a nice and tidy condition. She is the 3 cabin model of this high volume cruising yacht giving good headroom below decks whilst maintaining a reasonable low coach roof / deck profile. This yacht also boasts a good condition teak deck, the deeper keel and a bigger 55hp engine. With recently replaced sails and sail drive seal she will be very popular. The owners can also present a very detailed maintenance log.
She is run by the owners in a collaborative and friendly manner. Each owner gets a share of the use established in what they believe is the fairest and most flexible way possible. Maintenance and repairs are agreed with input from all with the aim of keeping her ready to sail at all times. She is currently berthed at Swanwick Marina (Hamble River, Southampton) and the owners are very happy with this location.
The Current Owners -
A (joint owner since 2014) – I have sailed since I was 14 and am now in my early 40s. I passed my yacht master when I was 18 and have cruised and raced since. My favourite type of sailing is cruising with friends and family. I now have a young family, and this is a great boat for that.
J (joint owner since 2014) – I have been sailing for about 10 years and passed my Coastal Skipper a few years ago. Most of my sailing is with friends and family based in the Solent and the south coast of England including a couple of cross-channel trips. I act as “bosun” for the boat and do the majority of jobs on board as I can usually fix things and being retired I have more free time.
D (joint owner since 2022) – I passed my competent crew in 2009 and my Yachtmaster in 2019 and have chartered in the UK and Europe with my wife before we joined ownership early in 2022. We have a young family and are enjoying regular trips. As the most recent to join we can say that the boat has lived up to the promise of being a comfortable and capable sailing yacht. Part owning a yacht gives us a full understanding of what is involved in yacht ownership which may be invaluable experience for us in the future.
