Broker's Comments
Thais pretty little ketch was built in Leigh on Sea in Essex England in 1974 by the boat builders Johnson Sons & Jago Ltd, in the days before GRP was expensive and nobody new quite how strong it was. After sailing around the U.K. for many years she spent an extensive period moored off the South Wales Coast . A sugar scoop was added circa 1999 to increase her water line and enable her to enter the Cutty Sark Tall Ships race in her class !
Eventually she was sailed single handed across the Mediterranean and on down on to settle in Phuket. Sold buy ourselves to the current owner in 2003, since when she has been based in Langkawi. The current owner added new sails and electronics when he bought and she has had little use since and has just been re launched ( June 2017 ) after maintenance, anti fouling and a topsides repaint.
