Broker's Comments

Here we have a lovely traditional Mevagissey Tosher 18 from Falmouth Working Boat Heard stable. Strongly built in their yard at the head of Mylor Creek off the Fal in Cornwall.

This circa 1890 design of this Cornish built traditional inshore fishing boat, this Mevagissey Tosher, is a little cracker. Handsomely set up as a Gaff Rigged Cutter. The original plug was taken from the Mevagissey Tosher YoYo built in 1893 and provides a solid and very pretty day boat for a skipper and up to four crew.

The original Tosher was handled by one fisherman and this one is designed for single handed sailing as a gaff rigged cutter with a bow sprit. These boats are renowned as highly stable day boats ideal for family sailing. Whilst she is immensely sea-worthy and stable in a blow, in light airs the Yanmar 10GM diesel engine is more than capable of getting you home.

All this pretty little vessel needs now is a new passionate owner to enjoy and look after her.

Please don't hesitate to contact me for an early viewing.
