Marex is known as a builder of quality motor cruisers and this does seem like a sturdy little vessel. Having come into contact with "something fairly solid" on the Rhone river in 2019 she was craned into a local yard and repairs carried out including new drive shaft, new propeller, new cutlass bearing with bills to prove.

No. of single berths | 3 |
Cabin(s) | 2 |

Centre cockpit layout should make this a nice dry boat for coastal cruising and there is a double sunbed over the aft cabin for the deck lizards in the crew. Galley and helm are in the central cockpit making this a very convivial layout. The fore-end of the cockpit is protected by a solid "hard top" whilst the aft end is open to the sun or covered by a full canvas enclosure. The double helm seat has a reversible backrest turning it into a very comfortable dining chair when in dining configuration. The folding dining table folds away into the starboard bulkhead to completely free up space in the cockpit when not eating. The galley comprises a 12v fridge and a two burner gas hob with hot and cold water to the sink.
Forward of this cockpit / galley area and to starboard is the heads compartment with manual heads, washbasin and shower, whilst the guest cabin is right forward with two V berths 1.8m x 0.7m or with infill 1.8 x 2.05 max. triangle double. The triangular infill is also a table and can be used to convert this space into an inside lounge dining area. Headroom here is 1.75m. Aft of the cockpit is the main cabin with a single bed to port 1.95m x 0.7m and a double to starboard 2m x 1.2m.
On the stern a bathing platform with swim ladder and hot and cold water shower.
Domestic hot water from a calorifier
Blown air heating from a diesel fired Ardic 4.3 Kw burner.
2 burner gas cooker/stove

Broker's Comments
Marex 280 Holiday for sale in the south of France. Boatshed Midi Canals is pleased to offer this ideal compact coastal cruiser for sale.
As at home on the inland waterways as on the coasts, this is a C category motor cruiser great for a couple to enjoy the coasts and waterways of France and Europe without breaking the bank.
A sober Yanmar 190hp engine should be well up to the job on open water whilst not being ferocious on the canals. A great little compromise that benefits from a new prop. shaft, a new propellor and a new cutlass bearing after striking a submerged object on the Rhone last year - all professionally done with bills to prove.
