Broker's Comments
Boatshed Essex are delighted to be featuring this much loved and admired Sparkman and Stephens She 36. Sparkman and Stephens have a well respected world wide reputation for quality and performance and the She 36 is no exception. Reported to be fast and seaworthy, these cruiser racers also provide good sized accommodation and were fitted out to a comparatively high standard. Indeed, the current owner reports a 'delightful boat to handle, taking heavy weather comfortably'.
This particular version has taken place in four Fastnest races, races across the Atlantic and several years cruising in the Carribean. With only two owners from new and the first owner sold relectantly. The current owner comments that wherever they sailed her, the boat was hailed, even in the Caribean!
The cockpit has a comfortable and spacious feel and likewise the side and foredecks make going forward and working the boat comfortable. Down below the accommodation is divided into two cabins with the galley, saloon and chart table in the main area and a separate forward cabin providing separate twin or double space.
On visiting the boat, I was impressed by a vessel that looks to have been well maintained and upgraded. The boat looks to be well specified throughout with an envious sail wardrobe, selection of navigation and safety instruments and equipment, and an all round feel of a boat that has been well cared for.
There has been recent investment to the transmission including a new shaft, bearings and flexible coupling. In addition to all of this, the owner is offering to replace the standing rigging once a sale has been agreed.
This boat really is an attractive proposition for the discerning cruiser racer, both with its pedigree and also the evidence of good upkeep. Even a brief glance around the internet reveals a panoply of praise for the She 36 and we doubt a viewer would be disappointed here. If you would like to arrange a personal viewing or have any queries, then please do contact our office and the team would be pleased to help.
