Broker's Comments
This Westerly Tempest has been lucky to have been owned by an electrical engineer for the last 8 years. The owner obviously loves his boat and has attention to detail. She has been very well looked after.
With a roomy cockpit, wide decks and all lines leading aft, this vessel has the space for a family but is actually set up for easy single handed sailing. The decks are clean and uncluttered, the standing rigging was replaced in 2008 and the sails, which look to be in good condition, were replaced in 2012. The chart plotter mounted on a strong custom made frame is easy to see from the helm position, as are the traditional instruments above the companionway.
Down below she is also a treat. The headlining has been professionally replaced, the upholstery & floors appear to be in good condition as do the windows. There is plenty of light whilst the bilges are clean & dry.
I personally like the accommodation layout in this beamy vessel. With two double berthed aft cabins, a roomy saloon with 3 further berths, a decent galley with full cooker & fridge, a good sized and well equipped nav table and a large heads compartment that includes a shower, this vessel also has pressurised h/c water throughout and cabin heating.
Forward of the heads is a practical forecastle locker with access from the heads or the foredeck.
All in all, a very well looked after and maintained yacht that is swift off the mark, is big enough for family sailing and also easily handled for single or short handed sailing.
