Classic Boat Regatta

Yesterday saw the beginning of a first for Plymouth and many of the boats due to take part.

The 60 strong fleet of classic sailing boats are due to arrive this Friday and Saturday for the main event on Sunday.

Building on last years success the races and boats will hopefully provide a sparked interest for locals and holiday makers alike.

Some of the early birds pulled into Sutton Harbour yesterday evening with this weekend promising to be a worth while spectacle with all the boats being brought alongside in Sutton Harbour down at the Barbican and out racing on Sunday (reminiscent views of the sound and picture opportunities galore!)

This event is shore to bring something even for the non boaters and sailors as a collection of vessels this strong combined with the weather to be lapped up would be hard to find even on the continent!

The Maritime Plymouth stand is on site behind the Dolphin Pub, for all that thirsty work in the sun,

Please pop down and say hello with some free flags and keyring's for the kids as well as the all new Maritime Plymouth Little Blue Book readily available and jam packed with who's who and where in Plymouth there is more information and Programs on the Classic Regatta provided by friendly people from the marine business in and around Plymouth.
