It was once again time for the annual Brambles Cricket Match held on the
Brambles Bank at 6am on Saturday 22nd August the Royal Southern Yacht Club
against the Island Sailing Club and Peter Delbridge of Boatshed Hamble was
up before the crack of dawn to head out into the Solent to wait for the
Brambles Bank to show itself.

Low tide was 0625 hrs and there where close to a hundred brave people who
made the trip including our old friend disabled sailor Geoff Holt, Sir Robin
Knox Johnson and even TV star Rory McGraff getting stuck into the craziest
game of cricket you have ever seen. Eccentric or what !

There was about an hours worth of play before the tide flooded back in and a
mass retreat was made back to the Southern for a proper full English
breakfast. Oh yes the Royal Southern Yacht Club won the match this year,
but then it was their turn !
